Don't add friends one-by-one.
1. Simply head to Settings and then click on the Chat tab. (Settings are on the lower-left menu of your Orkut homepage)
2. Select the checkbox that states 'Allow all my orkut friends to chat with me'.
3. Save your settings and you will find all your Orkut friends added automatically in your Google Talk friends list. Even the ones who are not using GMail will figure on the list and you can choose to invite them to GTalk.
